The prevalence and incidence of Helicobacter pylori-associated diseases inUkraineis high. Antihelicobacter therapy (AHT) is considered to be the main strategy for their treatment.
Aim. The analysis of the assortment of medicines used in the schemes for AHT at the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine, their economic availability for consumers and its dynamics in the years 2011-2015.
Materials. The assortment of proton pump inhibitors, antibacterial agents, bismuth preparations that are recommended for AHT in Ukraine were determined by using the data of the system «Pharmstandard» of the company «Morion», the economic availability – by using the rate of solvency adequacy.
Results. The drugs for AHT were presented in the 2011-2015 in a wide assortment at the pharmaceutical market ofUkraine, mainly of a foreign manufacture. The number of their international nonproprietary names did not differ in the period of study, but the number of their trade names decreased significantly in 2014-2015. Most drugs had a high and medium availability for the course of treatment for the average inhabitant of Ukraine 2011-2015. Over the years the availability of the majority of proton pump inhibitors and the antibacterial drugs were decreased for the population. For bismuth preparations the availability decrease was observed only in2014, in other years they were of a high availability for consumers.
Conclusions. Despite of the wide range of drugs for AHT inUkraine in 2011-2015 years, the availability of most of them was decreasing with years. This is due to the fact that the pace of the increase in prices for drugs exceeded the rate of the wage increase in a difficult socio-economic situation inUkraine.
